Thursday, April 26, 2012

As always,  members and staff from the FIRST Union retail sector are busy negotiating pay rises and improvements in conditions for staff in shops and supermarkets near you.

Recent developments include:

A ratification vote  will take place on Monday for staff at Auckland Meat Processors. After a long process of bargaining, the settlement would  deliver 3% to the highest paid staff and 4% to the lowest.

Ratification meetings also start this week at Kmart, for a deal including a 5% pay increase for a 14 month term.

A joint consultative forum with Progressive takes place this Friday, and FIRST representatives will be attending bargaining with Briscoes this Thursday. And, finally, claims meetings at The Warehouse and Bunnings will start soon.
