Workers at Lincoln Road Pak ‘n Save are sick of the rules always being changed.
Checkout workers finally had enough when the store manager removed the shift swapping system and cancelled shift swaps that had previously been agreed to.
Checkout delegates wrote a petition to let the store owner know what was going on and took it around the store.
The store owner had promised the shift swapping system wouldn’t change during negotiations last year.
Delegates believe the store owner was not aware of the shift swapping removal and other changes the store manager is making.
Before the delegates presented the 150-strong petition to the owner, management found out and quickly reinstated the system.
Workers are happy the system has been reinstated and feel confident they have a voice at work.
